Termino docs.

Everything needed to set up the launcher, understand permissions, use the terminal and troubleshoot the first release.

Quick start

Install Termino, open it once, then type:

> apps
> home

Use home to open Android's Home-app selection screen and choose Termino as the default launcher.

Using Termino as Home

Once Termino is selected as your default Home app, pressing the Android Home gesture/button returns to the terminal. If you lock the phone while another app is open, Android may restore that app after unlock; Termino does not forcibly steal foreground focus.

Terminal input

Tap anywhere on the terminal to focus the prompt and show the keyboard. Commands and output form one continuous scrollable terminal document; the prompt is not pinned to the bottom.

Tab accepts completion on a hardware keyboard. ↑/↓ navigate command history where supported.

Message inbox

inbox displays messaging-style notifications only. Termino uses Android notification classification and MessagingStyle signals to avoid dumping every system notification into the terminal.

Direct reply works only when the source app exposes Android's standard reply action. Tap [reply] to prefill the reply command.

Permissions

Termino asks only when a command requires access. Contacts are used for contact search and call/SMS resolution. Phone access enables direct calls. Notification Listener access powers the terminal inbox and supported direct replies. Code Rain wallpaper uses Android's wallpaper service.

Code Rain

rain is the shorter alias. The live wallpaper is optional. Android/OEM behavior determines whether a live wallpaper can also appear on the lock screen or behind Overview/Recents.

Troubleshooting

Notifications do not appear

Run inbox and make sure Termino has Notification Access in Android Settings. Some apps may not identify their notifications as messaging conversations.

Contact search is empty

Ensure Contacts permission is allowed for Termino and that contacts are available through Android's Contacts provider.

App not found

Run apps <filter>. Termino lists launchable apps, so background-only packages may not appear.

Live wallpaper looks stale after an update

Run coderain wallpaper and reapply the live wallpaper; Android can keep an existing wallpaper service alive across app updates.
